Easter Monday

Well today sees an end to the Easter festivities(not that there were any real festivities for me).

Today was a good day. About a 7/10. Woke up at nine, or at least I thought it was nine, fecking daylight saving hours complicated things. Went to the metro centre this morning/afternoon. I bought nothing! I did, however, see things I would like to buy when I get home from NY unless I can get them cheaper there.

On the way home we took the route that was most congested so in an attempt to take a shortcut we ended up......well nowhere. It was like a bike ride with john. Speaking of whom, haven't spoken to him today, wonder if he went to the west coast on his bike like he planned. Looking forward to finding out what happened there.

Did the first bit of college I have in weeks today, I hope to finish it tomorrow. Grrr...I really can't be arsed.

I also learned that drinking on an empty stomach(even just a pint) can get you feeling as drunk as several following a meal. Thank god for spellchecker on blogger.

GOING TO NEW YORK IN TWO DAYS!!! (Bet you're jealous)

Easter Sunday

Today has been Crap!

It started badly and got progressively worse.

I woke up early only to find that I wasn't going hiking in the lakes because of the rain. I then had to call john to tell him which made me feel guilty because he had got out of bed early too(sorry john). I then went back to sleep for a few hours. By the time I did get up it was 11am, but thanks to daylight saving hours it was 12pm. An hour lost, on any other day that would be a bad thing, but today it was inconsequential.

The reason for this is I spent most of the day sitting in my room doing nothing. Well I say nothing, I added a new poll to the site. That was the most productive thing. I also broke the font system on my computer system. I'm going to have to reinstall tomorrow, there's a task I don't look forward too.

I watched Joey, Two and a Half men and 24 tonight. That was really the highlight of a dull day. They were all really good. I suggest if you haven't seen two and a half men you watch it next week at 8:30pm on Five. This weeks show contained the great scene:

GIRL: You said I was special. If I'm special why were you dating three other women at the same time?
CHARLIE: I said you were special, not unique

That had me laughing a while.

Anyway after that telefest I came online to check the state of the UCAS Track website
The University of Edinburgh - Unsuccessful
The University of Nottingham - Unsuccessful
Oxford University - Unsuccessful
University of Newcastle Upon Tyne - ???

Only one chance left and its not looking good. Hope they tell me before new york.

Anyway, after doing that I went on MSN. There I learned that this blog can get me into trouble. People can find out if they werent invited places. So let me add a disclaimer:

If you see that I have been somewhere and you were not invited assume I either: forgot, didn't have the time or means or didn't think you would want to go.

I don't deliberately ignore people.

Anyway I am now listening to my "Zen" playlist of songs. I will post the track listings in a few minutes, all the songs on it are good to listen to if you need to relax!

Hope tomorrow is a better day........

Poll Hack - Update

Kyle was the person who tried to hack the poll. He has been named and shamed.

Saturday

Going to be quick now because I'm going to bed now.

Watched England win 4-0 this afternoon, despite the score line the match was pretty dull. Michael Owen need to be dropped fast, he missed chances I could have scored!

Tonight I went to Newcastle with John N., Kyle, David, Alan, Matthew, Fiona and Erin for a meal. We went to Marco Polo's, a seaside themed Italian restaurant. The meal was OK but I had a good time which was the important thing. The meal came to just under £100 for 8 people which I thought was a lot.

We went back to davids after, looking everywhere for an off license but failing. It seems they close at 10pm. We didn't stay long at davids tonight.

I was supposed to be going to the lakes tomorrow for a hike but the weather looks like it might be stopping that. It could be God punishing john for not going to church tomorrow. Or it could be coincidence, who knows!

A pretty average day overall really. Wasn't bored much though which is a good thing!

4 Days to New York now......

Poll Hack

Somebody has attempted to rig the new poll. I have had to delete the old results database and replace it so if you had already voted before this morning you can again. The new system should be more secure but I'm sure someone will find a way around it.

Good Friday

Today has been the quietest day of the Easter Holidays so far. I did virtually nothing. I went to get fish and chips for lunch. I played football for an hour this afternoon. Other than that nothing!

I did use some of the free time to add a friends section to the blog(The link is in the sidebar). I also added a poll to the site. The idea is for me to think of a new question and post the results of the previous weeks question every Friday. I doubt I will stick to this but I will try.

This weeks question is one that is very important to me. Something tells me though I won't get the response I would like....

Thursday

Today I went on a bike ride and now I am absolutely nackered.

Last night me and John P. Agreed that we should go on a bike ride. I chose Penshaw Monument as the destination. I hadn't been there in years and it isn't that far. Or at least it wouldn't have been had we not gone on the suggested cycle routes. We went via the beach with a stop off in Sunderland city centre. The outbound trip took 3 hours with breaks. The return trip only took only 1 and a half hours. I think in future I will use that route.

When we got to Penshaw we climbed the hill from the north side(the normal way up by car is from the south.) On the way up we saw nobody at all. As we got closer to the monument there was the distinct sound of talking. This continued for about 100 yards but we saw nobody to account for the sound. Then as we reached the monument there were kids everywhere. It was the annual egg rolling contest. Grrr. Annoying small children.

Anyway it was a good day overall if very tiring. (See Pictures of the trip)

Only 6 Days until New York now, getting quite excited.......

Jazz

Out of sheer bordem I am adding to the blog again. I have just been listening to Katie Melua - Call of the Search, and though its not Rock which is the genre I normally stick to, I am very impressed. The songs are very relaxing and work great as background music. Well worth a listen.

Wednesday

Got a good lie in today which put me in a good mood. When I did get myself out of bed I blasted some music to wake me up, that put me in an even better mood!

Today was also a very hot day for South Shields I think it was around 20 degrees C. So I chose this to be the first day of the year to wear shorts. That marked the end of winter for me. I'm really looking forward to summer now.

Anyway back to today. I went bowling with John P and some of his mates. I came second last in the first game but thanks to a brilliant finish I won the second game.

Later me, John N and Craig went to play football. There were supposed to be more people but things got in the way. So all we really had was a kick about.
(Note for Future: Make friends with more people who like football)

Playing Fountains of Wayne loudly now, no doubt my parents and the neighbors aren't too pleased.

Think I will do some chem coursework.

7 Days until New York........

Tuesday

Had some friends around today. The aim was to create some music but we came to the conclusion that it is best done while drunk! So that is being left until next week. Not a great deal else happened.
Only 8 days until I go to New York. Wooooo!
Roll on Wednesday.........

Film Review: Hostage

This film is the best film I have seen in ages. It had Bruce Willis at his best, gunfire, swearing, being in the wrong place in the wrong time and all that.
The story is quite complex, but basically it involves a hostage situation, that is complicated by the hostages being involved with criminals. Bruce is a retired negotiator, who's own family gets kidnapped to make him resolve the other hostage situation.
There are some great scenes where Bruce takes on many enemies by himself still having time to make some very dramatic poses.
You should go and see it
Boffy Rating: 10
Die Hard rating: 9(10 being Die Hard)

Monday

Today started like most weekdays do with me getting out of bed and going to college. Today it was just a Maths revision class which only 5 people turned up for. It was good fun though.
After the class me and Kyle went down the town and bought a Mic! Will come in useful.
We then got the bus to Boldon cinema. Kyle told me that getting a return ticket was a good idea. But it turned out to be a very bad idea as the bus that we had to get home had to be stagecoach which none of them were. The film made up for that though. Bruce Willis rules!!!

Pitiful Sunrise

This week has been one of my worst but last night made up for it. It was my friend Matthew's birthday party and I wasn't expecting how good it would be. The highlight of the evening was the sing-a-long. We performed versions of monty python songs, REM, Peter Kay and quite a few more. It sounded really good so we are going to do some recording of it on Tuesday. Should be a laugh.

Following Matthews brilliant party we decided that a trip to the beach would be fun. We went to watch the sunrise, but all we saw was the beach emerge from the darkness into light. We did however get some brilliant photos that would make a great album cover.

My New blog

I decided to copy Davids idea of having a blog. Mainly because I have a lot of time when I am bored with nothing to do and this will help fill the time!
